Baseball Umpires (Male and Female)
To get started, Baseball Alberta’s NUCP clinics are now open for registration:
Clinic dates:
- Level 1 Clinic: Saturday, April 25
- Level 2 Clinic: Sunday, April 26
Program overview:
- NUCP Level 1 (1-year program): Fundamentals of umpiring.
- Level 1 umpires who complete at least 10 games (plate and base combined) in the season are eligible to register for Level 2 the following year.
- NUCP Level 2 (3-year program):
- Year 1: Offense
- Year 2: Defense
- Year 3: Game Management
- Available to Level 1 umpires who complete a minimum of 10 games in 2025 and wish to advance in 2026. Please connect with your local Umpire Coordinator to confirm eligibility.
Clinic logistics:
- Time: 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (sign-in begins at 8:30 a.m.)
- Breaks: Includes a 30-minute lunch; please bring lunch, snacks, and drinks
- Activity: Includes an active component—bring comfortable clothing and clean indoor footwear
- Equipment: Bring a baseball glove and an umpire or catcher’s mask if you have one
- Materials: Please bring something to take notes with

NUCP Level 1
*Level 1 Umpires who are certified and have worked a minimum of 10 games (combination of plate and base) are eligible to register for the NUCP Level 2 certification the following season

NUCP Level 2 = 3 Year Program
Year 1 = Offense
Year 2 = Defense
Year 3 = Game Management
The Baseball Alberta Umpire Committee has made NUCP Level 2 Clinics available to any NUCP Level 1 Umpire who has completed a minimum of 10 games in 2024 (must be a combination of plate and base umpiring) and is looking to advance into NUCP Level 2 in 2026. Please speak to your local Umpire Coordinator, Adam Rutherford, to see if you qualify.

U11 Game Time 6:15
U13/U15/U18 Game Time 6:30
Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to game start time
If you need to cancel, please text Adam Rutherford and a replacement umpire will be arranged.
COACHES
Please contact Adam Rutherford via text (403-304-9051) ASAP if you are canceling a game.
